Frier Levitt, a national boutique law firm specializing in healthcare and life sciences, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join their Life Sciences team in Pine Brook, NJ. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in litigation, with a preference for healthcare or life sciences experience. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for a variety of tasks including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, conducting depositions, appearing in court or arbitration, and working with state-based boards and administrative agencies. Strong writing, oral communication, and legal research skills are essential for this role. The firm offers a hybrid schedule, competitive salary, and a full range of benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery requests - Communicate with clients on factual investigation, litigation strategies, and case status - Prepare and manage scheduling orders, protective orders, and e-discovery orders - Conduct depositions of witnesses and defend depositions - Prepare witness outlines and exhibits for trials and hearings - Conduct oral argument on motions - Appear in court or arbitration for conferences and status updates - Develop strategies, draft mediation statements, and attend mediations and settlement conferences - Work with state-based boards and administrative agencies - Sit second chair for trials and final hearings in arbitration
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in litigation (healthcare or life sciences experience preferred) - Admitted to practice in at least one US state - Exceptional writing, oral communication, and legal research skills - Team-player mindset and ability to work collaboratively with a team of attorneys - Strong work ethic and minimum law school GPA of 3.0 preferred
