The Associate Product Copywriter is responsible for naming and describing DSW footwear, handbags, and accessories. Reports to: Photo Studio Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Product Services
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Write compelling product copy in a brand-appropriate voice with attention to grammar, readability, style & accuracy of product information. Translate merchant initiatives into strong, savvy copy. *Attend regular meetings with eCommerce, copy, and merchant to review new styles and address merchants' product copy needs and wants. *Derive material, measurements, country of origin, and other details from sample or template information. Ensure accuracy of physical product to imagery. *Maintain a consistent style and be able to flex across multiple product categories. *Supports the eCommerce Copy Playbook by modifying and updating standards while considering SEO optimization. *Update copy and sample information in internal tracking system and personal reporting. *Ensure products move through the listing process in accordance with established weekly deadlines. *Respond to requests for online copy changes. *Proofread DSW.com and make edits as necessary. Review while looking for typos, outdated copy, mislabeled styles and back-end glitches and update when appropriate.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
*Ability to pick up and navigate multiple web-based software platforms *Versatile, fast writer who can product up to 35 copy blocks on a daily basis according to DSW copy guidelines. *Attention to detail & fact-checking ability *Conceptual writer with excellent writing skills. *Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and readjust priorities in order to meet deadlines *Actively participates and engage in dialogues *Adaptive to change and tight deadlines *Process-centric, strong organizational skills *SEO writing and knowledge of best practices *Self-starter and enthusiastic team player *Journalism or media experience preferred *Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communication, Fashion or related field
