Position Overview: - Seeking highly experienced and strategic legal leader for role of Associate Vice President, Assistant General Counsel - Government and Internal Legal Investigations - Reports directly to SVP, Deputy General Counsel - Litigation, Investigations, Labor and Employment, Digital Sustainability, IRM, and Legal Operations - Leads global team of attorneys handling legal internal and government investigations - Key member of litigation leadership team, responsible for ensuring team performance, processes, and strategy meet best-in-class standards - Expected to individually lead complex internal and government investigations, and in some cases, related litigation - Must have passion for identifying and developing high performing talent, vision and experience in leveraging technology for legal function and matters, and proven ability to advise senior leaders with confidence and influence
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage team of attorneys handling global government and internal legal investigations and related litigation - Provide legal advice and strategic direction on complex investigation issues and mitigations - Advise on anti-corruption compliance, fraud, AKS, FCA, and related issues - Stay current on and engage with legal leadership and senior management on global enforcement initiatives/priorities and related laws, regulations, and industry standards - Maintain strong connections with global legal, HR, and compliance peers for coordinated approach to investigation risk management - Collaborate with federal and state enforcement regulators and other external stakeholders as needed - Manage relationships with external counsel, consultants, industry peers/associations, and other third-party service providers - Oversee strategic use of technology solutions for investigations and compliance strategies - Provide training and guidance on compliance and investigation best practices
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s and J.D. degrees, active license to practice law in the United States - Minimum of 15 years legal experience, primarily handling government investigations and enforcement matters - Experience at government enforcement authority and/or large law firm advising global corporations, or in-house at a global corporation - Experience advising on global compliance and enforcement risks, including anti-corruption laws, FCPA, economic and export sanctions, fraud, and cross-border investigations - Significant experience handling government enforcement inquiries and investigations with federal enforcement authorities such as DOJ and SEC - Demonstrated team leadership experience and effectiveness working with senior leadership - Healthcare field experience preferred, with life sciences experience preferred - Strong executive presence and ability to provide practical legal advice

Compensation and Benefits: - Actual compensation depends on education, experience, skills, and geographic location - Anticipated wage for this position is $247,500 - $385,000 - Eligible for company bonus (depending on company and individual performance) - Comprehensive benefits program, including 401(k), pension, vacation, medical, dental, vision, prescription drug benefits, flexible benefits, life insurance, time off and leave of absence benefits, and well-being benefits - Lilly reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate its compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion
