Work type: Full Time Administrative Location: Systems Office - Indianapolis, IN Categories: Administrative/Professional, Human Resources General Description of Position: The Assistant Director supports the Human Resources team in the day to day administration and ongoing review of the College’s employee benefits program including leaves of absence, medical, dental, vision, life, voluntary benefits and retirement. This position includes some in person, and frequent contact by phone or email with internal employees, campus human resources, and/or third-party administrators. Most issues will be resolved independently, with elevated matters being referred to the Director. Major Responsibilities: Assists with leave administration process from completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, requesting and reviewing medical certifications for approval/denial of leaves and processing insurance billing, as needed. Maintains communication between employees on leave, their supervisor and campus HR. Coordinates short-term, long-term and life claim filing. Leads benefits orientation for newly hired employees and provides support to employees with benefit coverage interpretation. Prepares paperwork and applicable event processing for new hires, terminations and life events. Conducts ongoing audits of IvyBenefits (benefit enrollment system), Banner/Workday (HRIS), vendor enrollment systems and College retirement plans. Assists in the creation, assembly, and posting of benefit resources. Assists with retirement corrections as needed. Works in collaboration with campus human resources in identifying part-time employees eligible for the College retirement contribution and sets up retirement codes as applicable. Updates and maintains the benefits or leaves website. This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director Employee Benefits SUPERVISION GIVEN: None Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree (or above) required. A minimum of one year of related benefit experience is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must demonstrate a strong customer service focus and effective communication skills. Strong problem solving skills required. Demonstrated abilities to determine priorities, organize and process high volume of detailed work is required. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
