JOB SUMMARY:
The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking an Experienced Assistant City Attorney to join our legal team. This position will be responsible for representing the city in various legal matters, including procurement, contracts, and economic development. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to assist with civil service matters and other duties as assigned by the City Attorney. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school - Three years or more of experience in municipal law preferred - Must be a member of the State Bar of Texas - Possession of or ability to obtain license for practice before U.S. District Court - Must have a valid driver's license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of municipal procurement, contracts, and construction law - Familiarity with economic development tools and agreements - Understanding of planning and development issues - Knowledge of the Public Information Act and Municipal Court prosecution - Ability to analyze legal questions and communicate findings effectively - Strong drafting skills for contracts, legal opinions, ordinances, and more - Ability to identify and resolve legal impediments - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Strong research abilities and ability to work in a team-oriented environment

This position requires sedentary work with occasional lifting and physical abilities such as fingering, hearing, mental acuity, speaking, visual acuity, and walking.
