The Office of the Illinois Attorney General is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Prosecutions Trials Assistance Bureau in Belleville. Responsibilities:
• Handle all phases of criminal prosecutions, including investigations, presenting cases to Grand Juries, conducting preliminary hearings, and managing trials • Prepare and argue pretrial motions and post-trial motions • Manage discovery and conduct jury and bench trials • Conduct habeas corpus petition hearings in the U.S. District Court • Provide assistance to State's Attorneys across Illinois and prosecute cases developed by Office investigators
Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years of criminal prosecution experience • Licensed by the State of Illinois • Knowledge of mental health issues and ability to manage complex cases
Salary:
Salaries start at $83,016 for attorneys with a minimum of two-years of post-graduate criminal prosecution experience, and increase based on years of experience.
