Work type: Adjunct Faculty Location: Columbus, IN Categories: Other, Adjunct Faculty General Description of Position: The adjunct faculty is responsible for the delivery of instruction for all assigned classes, evaluation and assignment of grades to his/her students, and to maintain a positive and professional attitude in the classroom. Major Responsibilities: 1. Instruct assigned course/s; prepare course syllabus and distribute to students; submit grade/attendance records and quarterly grade roster to the Academic Chair at the end of each term. 2. When applicable, assist in preparation of program labs to support course instruction. 3. Assure student equipment availability for course work. 4. Maintain instructional documents as required (student status, drop-add). 5. Observe all College and Regional Administrative/Instructional policies (see handbook). 6. Instruct student on how/where to call for needed assistance. 7. Maintain course related records on all students. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed and in good standing in the State of Indiana. 2. Have a minimum of one year of licensed nurse experience. 3. Have completed a course in teaching adults. 4. A vocational teacher’s license will substitute for the required training in teaching adults. 5. Must have 1 year of Long term care experience as a nurse. Faculty must meet the credential requirements for the program in which they are teaching as stated in the Academic Policies and Procedures of Ivy Tech Community College Preferred Qualifications: Other Requirements: *Candidate will need to have or complete the Nurse Aide Instructor Training Seminar through IUPUI School of Nursing or Ivy Tech prior to course start date.
