Job Title: Adjunct, Business Law & Employment Law Salary: $900 per contact hour Experience: Master's degree in management or closely related business or legal field, with knowledge in business law and/or employment law
Position Summary: The reputed firm is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Adjunct to teach Business Law, Employment Law and other related business courses to community college students. This is a one semester temporary position with the possibility of continued employment. The successful candidate will report to the Associate Dean and may be assigned to any SLCC location.
Essential Responsibilities: • Prepare and teach classes to facilitate student learning • Demonstrate a deep understanding of labor law discipline • Abide by all college policies and maintain professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators • Provide timely feedback and return graded assignments according to department standards • Maintain attendance records and grades for financial aid purposes • Conduct appropriate evaluations of student performance and inform students of progress • Maintain a safe and respectful instructional environment, handling and reporting any incidents of inappropriate student behavior • Maintain professional and collegial behavior, responding promptly to student concerns and inquiries • Complete required employee trainings and enforce FERPA guidelines • Provide ADA accommodations as requested
Minimum Qualifications: • Master's degree in management from an accredited college or university OR Master's degree in a closely related business or legal field with verification of completion of degree requirements by time of employment with official transcripts • Demonstrated knowledge in business law and/or employment law
Preferred Qualifications: • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school AND college level teaching or industry training experience • Knowledge and experience in technology-enhanced instruction • Technologically literate and innovative
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Effective communication with diverse groups of people, cultures, and abilities • Ability to work with a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities
