Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the development, implementation, and execution of claims strategies for optimal loss cost management and customer satisfaction - Cultivate a collaborative and communicative departmental culture - Collaborate with various stakeholders to stay informed of market trends, legal changes, and loss developments - Manage and develop Claims staff, including training and succession planning - Ensure compliance with all local, federal, and state regulations related to claims - Attend mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials as necessary - Manage staff performance and implement strategies for staff development - Responsible for cost containment strategies and accurate and timely case reserving - Assist with the development of annual operational goals, objectives, and budgets
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, Juris Doctorate preferred - 10-12 years of experience in a legal environment or insurance industry managing high exposure Excess Casualty claims, litigation, and coverage - Strong people management and development skills - Detailed technical knowledge of general liability claims handling - Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word - Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills - Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and time management skills - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Willingness to travel 15% - Role is hybrid with two days in the office
Salary Information:
- O'Fallon/Texas/Alpharetta: $95,800 - $129,348/year - Jersey City/NY: $123,600 - $166,900/year - Total individual compensation offered will take into account various factors such as location, scope of responsibilities, qualifications, and business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
