The Attorney position at the Department of Finance and Administration is a crucial role responsible for conducting legal research and providing legal assistance to the agency. The successful candidate will have a law degree from an accredited law school and must be licensed and admitted to the Arkansas State Bar.
Responsibilities: - Conduct legal research and analyze data and documentation related to agency's legal matters - Research and interpret state and federal laws to determine impact on agency programs - Write legal briefs, motions, and other pleadings to support arguments in mediation or litigation - Provide legal guidance and technical assistance to agency's management and staff - Represent the agency in legal proceedings in various settings and jurisdictions - Perform mediation and litigation as needed
Key requirements: - Law degree from an accredited law school - Licensed and admitted to the Arkansas State Bar - Knowledge of state and federal laws - Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply case law, statutes, and legal precedents - Strong legal research and writing skills - Ability to provide legal guidance and technical assistance - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to travel occasionally for in-state and out-of-state legal matters
Salary: - Starting salary: $56,039.00 - Maximum salary: $89,383.00
