The Office of the Attorney General in New Hampshire is seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join their Civil Bureau's Client Counseling Unit. This unit provides legal counsel to the Governor, Executive Council, and all executive branch agencies, boards, and commissions. As a full-time attorney, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of legal matters and contribute to the important public interests of the state every day.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal counsel to various government agencies on a wide range of legal matters, including regulatory actions, administrative procedures, employment, constitutional and statutory law, government operations, public finance, conflicts of interest and ethics, procurement, and contract drafting and negotiations. - Represent agencies in administrative hearings and appellate proceedings. - Advise clients on legal matters and assess litigation risk. - Resolve disputes and negotiate on behalf of clients. - Draft legal documents and contracts.
Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. - Admitted to practice law in New Hampshire or eligible for admission by waiver. - Minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in a regulatory environment. - Experience advising clients on legal matters and resolving disputes. - Excellent analytical, negotiation, and writing skills.
