Salary: $119,638 $4,775 Location Pay Job Title: Associate Court Attorney JG - 30 Experience: Admission to the New York State Bar; and Five (5) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre-admission experience.
The New York State Unified Court System is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Associate Court Attorney JG - 30 in New York City Criminal Court, Bronx County. This is a non-competitive and confidential position with the potential for reassignment to any position in the same title within the promotion unit. The appointee will be responsible for researching and analyzing complex legal issues, advising judges on legal matters, and drafting confidential legal documents.
Key Responsibilities: - Research and analyze complex legal issues and questions - Advise judges on legal matters - Write confidential legal memoranda and recommend decisions - Draft confidential opinions, decisions, orders, and correspondence - Arrange and conduct conferences with litigants and other parties to action
Qualifications: - Admission to the New York State Bar - Five (5) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre-admission experience
Duties and Assignments: - Assigned to the Hon. Scott M. Krompinger in New York City Criminal Court, Bronx County - Responsible for researching and analyzing legal questions and issues - Confidentially advising judge on legal issues - Writing confidential legal memoranda and recommending decisions - Drafting confidential opinions, decisions, orders, and correspondence - Arranging and conducting conferences with litigants and other parties to action
