Job Description
The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is currently seeking an experienced litigation attorney to serve as an Associate Counsel in its Office of General Counsel. This is a full-time position located in Nashville, TN, with a salary of approximately $102,408/year depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, a valid Tennessee Law License, and a J.D. from an accredited law school. The successful candidate will also possess excellent research and writing skills, be proficient in Microsoft Word and Westlaw, and have the ability to make timely and effective decisions in line with the department's goals and mission. Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the Department in administrative law cases before various health licensure boards - Prepare cases for litigation, including medical record review, depositions, discovery, and trial - Analyze proposed legislation affecting public health - Intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in the healthcare industry are necessary for success in this role - Work effectively in a dynamic, team-focused environment - Handle a large case load at different phases of litigation
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee Law License - J.D. from an accredited law school - Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience - Excellent research and writing skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Westlaw - Ability to make timely and effective decisions in line with the department's goals and mission - No prior or pending disciplinary actions with the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility
