The Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). This full-time position offers a starting salary of $123,679 per year and is located in Baltimore County, Maryland. The ALJ will conduct fair and timely hearings for various State agencies and issue decisions in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act and other laws and regulations. The ALJ may also have the opportunity to telework and conduct remote hearings.
Role and Responsibilities - Conduct administrative hearings and mediations - Issue decisions for a variety of administrative cases - Ensure due process for individuals and businesses affected by State and government agency actions - Adhere to the Administrative Procedure Act and other laws and regulations - Possess strong interpersonal skills - Demonstrate outstanding analytical skills - Exhibit excellent writing, legal research, computer, and time management skills
Requirements - Must be a lawyer in good standing for at least five years - Must be licensed to practice law in Maryland - Must possess strong interpersonal skills - Must have outstanding analytical skills - Must have excellent writing, legal research, computer, and time management skills
