- The New York State Court System is offering an excellent learning opportunity for students through the 2025 Summer Judicial Internship Program. - The program will run for approximately six weeks, from June 9, 2025, to July 18, 2025. - Interns will work in person from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and will be placed in a location convenient for them within the Ninth Judicial District. - A detailed orientation and weekly professional development lectures will be held at the Westchester County Courthouse in White Plains. - This is an unpaid internship, and interns are responsible for paying parking fees. - The opportunity to intern in a Judge's chambers provides a unique insider's view into the decision-making process and allows interns to participate in important legal work. - Tasks may include conducting legal research, drafting memos and briefs, preparing decisions, observing court proceedings, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of chambers. - Interested law students and college students can apply by completing an employment application and submitting it with a cover letter, resume, and official transcript to the Internship Coordinator via email. - Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, beginning in January, and all applications must be received by March 2, 2025. - The program is limited to 50 students, so interested individuals should apply as soon as possible. - Law students with a passion for writing can also apply for a position at the White Plains satellite office of the Appellate Division, Second Department. - The New York State Unified Court System is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on various factors, including race, gender, religion, and disability.
