ABLE is a non-profit law firm dedicated to providing high-quality legal services to low-income individuals and groups in northwest and west central Ohio. We address the root causes of poverty and strive for equal justice and economic opportunity for all. We are currently seeking Summer Associates for our 2025 program, offering valuable practical experience and compensation in a fast-paced and hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and writing assignments - Work closely with experienced advocates in chosen practice area - Receive training on poverty law basics and legal practice - Gain court observation experience and meet with local attorneys and judges - Receive mentorship from experienced attorneys - Engage with clients in the communities we serve
Requirements:
- Full-time commitment (35 hours per week) for a minimum of 10 weeks from May 19, 2025, to July 25, 2025 - Attend program orientation in Toledo on May 19, 2025 (virtual accommodations available) - Comply with ABLE policies and procedures
Compensation:
- Paid salary (exact amount to be discussed during interview) - Reimbursement for program-related travel - Additional funding or grants can be secured by applicants
