Law Firm Seeks Experienced Legal Assistant for Property Damage Cases in Boca Raton, FL
Position Summary: - Essential contact point between the law firm and attorneys/insurance companies - Works directly with attorneys to assist with ongoing cases and trial preparation - Conducts fact-finding projects and maintains all case files
Essential Job Functions: - Performs secretarial, clerical, and data entry duties - Manages documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe - E-files legal documents in Florida's E-Portal System - Maintains attorney's calendar and schedules depositions, meetings, and hearings - Assists attorneys with preparation for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences - Drafts legal court documents and sends correspondence to parties/non-parties - Communicates with clients and sets up court calls or Zoom for hearings
Experience/Requirements: - Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm - 2 years of legal assistant experience - Experience with first-party property or general litigation cases - Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred - Strong customer service skills and proficiency with case management software - Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts - Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and ability to manage a heavy workload - Excellent communication and organizational skills
