Summary

FamilyFirst Law is a leading highly innovative California-based law firm specializing in family law and looking for an experienced senior/lead counsel to join our growing team. This is a remote/work-from-home position servicing clients in Northern and Southern California. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative, tech-focused firm at the forefront of implementing AI and automation to better serve our clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated senior family law attorney/lead counsel with 7 years of family law experience to handle your own assigned case load and manage a dedicated experienced family law paralegal who will assist on all your cases. You will report to a CFLS with light oversight.

Primary responsibilities include:

Handle assigned family law caseload independently
Manage and oversee a dedicated, experienced family law paralegal
Utilize AI and automation tools to enhance client service
Work remotely while maintaining high productivity and case management standards
Implement solution-oriented approaches to family law cases
Develop and maintain strong attorney-client relationships
Ensure client satisfaction through exceptional service and communication
Adapt to innovative billing practices, including no hourly billing
Collaborate with team members in a tech-focused, virtual environment
Stay current with family law developments and firm's technological advancements

The ideal candidate will have:

7 years of legal experience, including 2 years of Family Law experience
Admitted to practice law in California
Strong knowledge of Family Law, and divorce and civil practice
Compassionate approach working with family and children
Good degree of financial knowledge common in higher net worth divorce matters
Prior experience as lead counsel
Skills in managing client expectations
Negotiation training and skills important
Pre-Trial Litigation skills important; Trial skills are a nice to have
We are a virtual high-tech law firm. You need to know your way around a computer
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong client management skills
Emotional intelligence and ability to handle and counsel emotional clients
Experience with, or willingness to learn, AI based automation to increase efficiency and provide exceptional value to clients

We offer a highly competitive pay scale that is based on a split revenue model.  This means, the more clients assigned to your team, the more you make.  There is a guaranteed annual salary floor, and lead counsel can make upward of $160,000 with below quota case load, and upward of $200,000 or more with above quota load. Plus you can expand your team with no limit to earnings.  Firm offers a robust benefits package including: Half day Fridays, health insurance, 401k with matching, flex-spending account, disability insurance, generous PTO, and more.
