General Statement of Duties:
The Deputy Prosecuting Attorney I/II (Criminal) will perform legal duties to litigate juvenile, civil, misdemeanor, and felony criminal cases. This is a full-time position based in Mountain Home, ID.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $72,000.00 to $75,000.00 annually.
Experience and Training:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree - Graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with a Juris Doctorate Degree - License to practice law in the State of Idaho - Eligibility for membership in the Idaho Prosecuting Attorney's Association
Special Qualifications:
- Valid Idaho driver’s license - Eligible to practice law in the State of Idaho - Accepted to the Idaho State Bar or eligible for acceptance to the Idaho State Bar within a short timeframe
Essential Physical Abilities:
- Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds - Frequently required to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, use hands to type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms - Adequate vision, including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus - Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone - Work in an office and courtroom environment with moderate noise levels - May be exposed to emotional and violent individuals, requiring appropriate risk management

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney I:
- Entry level position - Distinguished by years of experience as a practicing attorney and handling of less complex cases - May have limited or no directly related work experience - Receives general supervision from higher level prosecuting attorney staff
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney II:
- Full journey level position - Distinguished by performance of full range of cases as assigned - Receives occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise - Fully aware of judicial procedures and policies of the work unit - Receives direction from higher level prosecuting attorney staff
