The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to independently find, investigate, and/or create new, next generation, innovative and cost effective technology solutions required to manufacture existing and new products. This includes the creation and development of a manufacturing technology roadmap for new and existing product technologies. For new technologies, he/she takes processes from the concept phase all the way to successful implementation. These activities are performed in line with company strategy, and in conformity to relevant standards.

Successful candidates are self-motivated, quick learners, can work independently with little direction and able to make strong decisions. Able to effect change through influence with strong leadership and mentoring skills. They work well in a team environment and can meet deadlines.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for the implementation of key elements of Lean, such as: standardized work instructions, line balancing, layout and work sequence (routing) optimization, training development matrix, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen/ 5S workouts, pull processes, TPM (total preventive maintenance), cell design and quick changeover/ batch-size optimization.
Implement process improvements to achieve manufacturing excellence in areas such as process yield (e.g. First Pass Yield, Rolled Throughput Yield), cycle time reduction and productivity.
Provide shop floor feedback on product design and manufacturability issues to Engineering and DFMs (e.g. through the use of Engineering Change Requests – ECR’s)
Review and sign-off on Engineering Change Orders that impact Inventory - including product life cycle issues, obsolescence, etc.
Creates, implements, and monitors key performance indicators and metrics on manufacturing process capability and product quality.
Monitoring and reducing process costs.
Responsible to assist with investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing quality issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

BS or MS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of higher degree and work related experience.
3 to 5 years’ experiences in a similar position.
Knowledge of Kaizen/LEAN Six Sigma techniques and metrics.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing and maintenance systems.
Knowledge of equipment and tools, ergonomics and safety.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Electric AC and DC drive systems (ABB, Siemens, Rockwell)
PLC and HMI control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Cmore, FTV, Wonderware, SQL)
CAD
Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
