Job Description
As a Foreclosure Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support our attorneys and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. These duties may include preparing and filing legal documents, managing foreclosure files, communicating with clients and other parties, data entry, and general administrative tasks. You will also be responsible for maintaining congenial relationships with business associates and clients, as well as providing exceptional customer service at all levels of interaction.
Qualifications
To be considered for this job, you should have previous experience in a legal, real estate, or financial services setting. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are also essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems is required, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A high level of professionalism and discretion is also expected.
Education and Experience
A minimum of a High School Diploma is required for this position, with an associate's degree in legal services or finance preferred. 2 years of relevant work experience is preferred, but we will consider the right candidate with less experience. Experience with title review is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must for this position. You should also be committed to providing exceptional customer service and able to communicate effectively with various parties. The ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment is also important. This position requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask and adapt to change. Proficiency in MS Office and internet research is necessary, and experience with case and document management software is preferred. A good understanding of the legal process surrounding foreclosure is also preferred, as well as experience with title reports and identifying chain of title issues. You should also be able to proficiently operate a computer, fax machine, scanner, photocopier, typewriter, and telephone.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $21.64-$26.45 per hour.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to sit, talk, or hear frequently. Occasionally, you may also need to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. This position may also require occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is a typical office setting with quiet to moderate noise levels.
