Intellectual Property Counsel - Protecting Legal Interests and Driving Innovation at a Global Medical Device Company

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced IP Counsel to join our team and play a crucial role in protecting our legal interests and driving innovation.
In this role, you will be responsible for a broad range of IP services, including drafting and prosecuting US patent applications, managing patent and trademark portfolios, and overseeing outside counsel working on IP-related matters. You will also play a key role in the development of patentability, validity, infringement, and freedom-to-practice opinions, as well as conducting patent searches. This position will involve frequent interaction with our R&D and product development teams, so strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
To be considered for this position, you must be a graduate of an accredited law school and a member in good standing of a state bar. You must also be a registered US patent attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution, preferably on a global scale. Experience in the orthopedic industry is highly preferred, and knowledge of surgical planning software, medical imaging, endoscope technology, virtual reality, and machine learning are all desirable.
In addition to these qualifications, we are looking for someone with advanced writing, reading, communication, and research skills. Experience with electronic-based legal research is also required. As this role will involve some travel, the ability to travel up to 20% of the time is necessary.

Main Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
