Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload based on jurisdictions - Conduct evidentiary hearings, depositions, and trials - Meet with clients to discuss discovery and negotiate pleas - Communicate with prosecutors, judges, and court representatives - Participate in docket calls in state and municipal courts - Perform legal investigations and prepare documents - Handle consultations with leads and assist in signing them up - Attend legal proceedings, carry out legal analysis, and provide legal advice with the help of experienced lawyers - Collaborate with clients and colleagues to reach resolutions in cases - Analyze disputes in legal issues, counsel clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients - Manage case files and ensure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
Qualifications:
- Possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school - Be a licensed attorney in the state of Missouri - Strong typing and technology skills required - Proficient in computer skills and technology, including Word, Excel, database software, and Outlook - Excellent organizational and follow-up skills - Effective communicator in both oral and written form - Great time management and problem-solving capabilities - Able to work well alone and as part of a team - Professional demeanor and excellent people skills - Exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion - Illinois law license preferred, but not necessary - Satisfactory results in relevant assessments - Self-reliant individual with a growth mindset and openness to utilizing technology
