Responsibilities: - Serve as a liaison between the Court and the Criminal Procedural Rules Committee and Committee on Rules of Evidence - Interact with Supreme Court Justices and staff, judiciary employees, Committee members, and other stakeholders on matters related to procedural and evidentiary rules - Monitor pending legislation, publications, and decisional law for developments and relay them to Committee members - Conduct legal research and writing on topics and issues relevant to the Committees' work - Draft rules and recommendations for public comment and submission to the Court - Prepare and give presentations to the public and stakeholders on the rules and the Committees' work - Prepare agendas and materials for Committee meetings - Review local rules for consistency with state rules of procedure - Collaborate with other counsel on joint-committee projects - Perform any other necessary work as directed by the Court or Chief Counsel
Requirements: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in criminal law practice with knowledge of evidentiary and procedural rules - Excellent communication, interpersonal, research, analytical, and writing skills - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently - Admission to the Bar of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** - Willingness to travel within the Commonwealth several times a year
