The Donald W. Banner Diversity Fellowship Program is a great opportunity for law students who are passionate about diversity and inclusion in the field of intellectual property law. This Fellowship, offered by law firm Banner Witcoff, provides financial support and a summer clerkship to 1L students who have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in IP law. H2: Program Overview

- Created by law firm Banner Witcoff to promote diversity and inclusion in the field of intellectual property law
- Open to all candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in IP law
- Available for 1L law students
- Provides a $5,000 financial award for law school tuition or other expenses upon completion of a 1L clerkship in the firm's summer program
- Additional $5,000 award available if student returns for any part of their 2L summer and accepts a full-time position with Banner Witcoff
- Maximum award possible for any recipient is $10,000
- Salary for summer clerkship role is $4,134.00 weekly

H2: Eligibility

- Only open to 1L law students who have entered into a JD program at an ABA-accredited law school in the United States
- Applicants must have a demonstrated record of academic achievement, excellent interpersonal skills, a scientific or engineering degree, and be eligible to take the Patent Bar Exam

H2: Selection Criteria

- Award is based on academic merit (undergraduate, graduate and law school), commitment to a career in IP law, sincere interest in a career at Banner Witcoff, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in IP law
- Also takes into consideration written and verbal communication skills, leadership qualities, and community involvement

- Applications will be accepted until January 3, 2025
- Applicants must submit a resume with two professional references, academic transcripts, a legal writing sample, and a one-page statement describing their commitment to diversity and inclusion in IP law
