Greenberg Traurig, a global law firm, is currently seeking a highly skilled Litigation Legal Secretary (Legal Support Specialist) to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits package for this full-time position.
Responsibilities: - Provide high-level secretarial and administrative support to four or more attorneys - Assist with preparing litigation cases from onset through post trial - Obtain and organize case files on a daily basis - Prepare, organize, and maintain deposition materials and summaries - Assist with trial and mediation preparations - Assist with document production, including creating and editing legal forms, correspondence, and documents - Flexible to work overtime as needed
Duties: - Handle scheduling and travel arrangements for attorneys - Organize and coordinate flow of information - Type and compose general correspondence, memos, legal documents, and reports - Prepare draft documents using firm templates and information from attorneys - Format documents for various courts - Coordinate multi-document filings in Federal, Circuit, and State courts - Establish and maintain filing and records, both hard copy and electronic - Enter lawyers' time and prepare client billing - Research and abstract information for meetings, projects, and reports - Take action authorized by lawyers, Business Director, or HR Manager - Notify appropriate parties of assigned lawyers' status - Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases - Maintain case calendars and documents - Oversee organization and maintenance of case-related materials
Skills: - Understanding of litigation laws for individuals, partnerships, and corporations - Familiarity with Federal Rules of Civil Procedure for court document filings - Comprehension of various legal court documents - High standards, good judgment, and ability to contribute and anticipate needs - Attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work well in a team - Occasional walking, sedentary work, and manual dexterity required - Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Qualifications: - 5 or more years of experience as a legal secretary in a business law practice with exposure to litigation - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred - Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, document management, and e-filing
