Position: Assistant District Attorney I, II, III Experience: 0-7 years Location: Kansas City, Kansas Salary Range: $27.53-$45.86/hr Employment Type: Full time
The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant District Attorney I, II, III. This role is responsible for enforcing the laws of the State of Kansas, prosecuting cases ranging in levels of complexity and violations from misdemeanor to high-level felony, and representing the State’s interest. The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and zero to seven years of litigation and work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Membership in the Kansas State Bar and a license to practice law in the State of Kansas are also required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce state laws and prosecute cases of varying complexity and severity. • Prepare and present evidence, interview witnesses, and research legal issues. • Prepare exhibits, journal entries, motions, and orders related to court proceedings. • Negotiate with attorneys and file criminal cases. • Prepare search warrants and handle appeals with the Kansas State Court and Supreme Court. • Argue at appellate court and prepare briefs. • Monitor progress of appeals through the court system.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. • Zero to seven years of litigation and work-related experience. • Membership in the Kansas State Bar. • License to practice law in the State of Kansas or ability to obtain one.
Salary and Benefits:
