H1: Join Our Dynamic Claims Team in Austin, TX! H2: Seeking Experienced Claims Examiners for Personal Lines Claims
Are you an analytical and creative problem solver with a strong desire to persuade and negotiate? Do you have experience in general liability and casualty matters? If so, USLI is looking for you to join our team as a Claims Examiner or Associate Claims Examiner in Austin, TX.
As a member of our claims team, you will have the opportunity to hone your skills in coverage analysis, liability and damage evaluation, and negotiation. Each claim is unique, providing new challenges and opportunities for growth. Our team also collaborates with other departments such as underwriting, compliance, and actuarial to ensure our products are the best they can be.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confirm coverage through analysis and interpretation of policy language - Conduct thorough investigations, including securing facts, statements, and documents - Manage reserves to accurately reflect exposure - Proactively manage files towards final disposition through diaries, direction to defense counsel, and analysis - Maintain thorough documentation of file activity - Communicate effectively with policyholders, underwriting, and actuarial teams
Other Duties:
- Provide exceptional customer service through timely responses to phone and email inquiries - Participate in continuing education to maintain state licenses and support personal and professional development - Travel as needed for mediations and court hearings - Complete special projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication skills - Analytical mindset and effective negotiation skills - Organizational and time management skills - Technical knowledge of insurance coverage, negligence law, and claim evaluation
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 years of relevant experience for Associate Claims Examiner - 7 years of relevant experience for Claims Examiner - Experience in general liability/casualty/excess matters, with transferable skills from examiner, adjuster, or paralegal roles - Personal lines experience, multi-jurisdictional knowledge, advanced degrees, or JD are a plus
