Responsibilities: - Handle a mixed caseload using various methods such as community education, advice and referral, brief service, transactional work, negotiation, mediation, and litigation. - Encourage participation in task forces, committees, social service organizations, and local bar associations. - Work both independently and as part of a team. - Demonstrate adaptability, appreciation of diversity, and the ability to balance compassion and pragmatism.
Qualifications: - Must have a Georgia bar license. - Preferably three or more years of legal experience. - Strong work ethic and excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills. - Good communication and listening skills. - Ability to work with diverse populations and balance compassion and pragmatism. - Previous experience with poverty law and low-income individuals preferred. - Proficiency in languages other than English highly valued.
Salary and Benefits: - Starting salary of $59,600 for three years of legal experience. - Salaries increase annually based on a salary scale. - Generous fringe benefits, including 18 paid holidays, 6 weeks paid time off, and 6 weeks parental leave. - Health, life, and long and short-term disability insurance. - Partial payment for dependent health insurance. - Salary reduction option for a flexible spending account. - Educational loan reimbursement up to $600 per month. - Voluntary tax-sheltered annuity with 3% match. - Payment of Georgia Bar dues and CLE expenses. - Hybrid work schedule with 2 days of remote work subject to management approval. - Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through the U.S. Department of Education.
