Prior experience in criminal defense and/or personal injury law preferred. Experience in litigation preferred.
Law Firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team in Williston, North Dakota. This is a full-time position with a salary starting at $75,000 per year. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and a Juris Doctor law degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school. They must also be licensed or able to become licensed in the State of North Dakota.
The Associate Attorney will be responsible for advocating for our clients and representing them in a variety of court settings. They will also have the opportunity to develop their own litigation practice and negotiate settlements on behalf of our clients. This position will require strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advocate zealously for clients in criminal defense and personal injury cases. - Represent clients in court and present evidence to judges and juries. - Negotiate settlements and manage the preparation of court documents. - Conduct legal research and analyze cases to determine the best course of action. - Advise clients on their legal rights and options. - Attend and lead meetings, hearings, and conference calls.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. - Juris Doctor law degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school. - Licensed or able to become licensed in the State of North Dakota. - Prior experience in criminal defense and/or personal injury law preferred. - Experience in litigation preferred. - Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. - Enthusiasm for developing creative solutions to problems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time. - Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, as needed. - Lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally. - Bend, stoop, reach, and grasp objects as necessary. - Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and manipulate items.
