Work type: Part Time Hourly Location: Lafayette, IN Categories: Other, Adjunct Faculty General Description of Position: These positions are in person, part-time, temporary positions filled each semester on an as-needed basis. Part-time tutors work a flexible schedule balanced between their availability and the coverage needs of the tutoring centers. Major Responsibilities: Mathematics and/or Science Tutors provide support for students at all levels of ability. Previous tutoring experience a plus. Additional training and access to course resources will be provided. Tutors may also be asked to answer questions via Zoom during the in-person hours. Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Maintain a positive attitude that supports student success. Communicate issues to supervisor as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications: Proven proficiency in college level math or science courses. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Science, Education, or related field. Other Requirements: Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.
