The City of New Smyrna Beach is now accepting applications for Summer Camp Counselors at the Babe James Community Center.
Summer program runs from June 2nd - August 8th
Shifts will vary between 6:45 AM - 6:00 PM - with up to 40 hours scheduled per week.
Requirements:
Must pass a level II background, physical and drug screen
Plan, organize, conduct or lead in-door or out-door activities and programs for designated age groups.
Monitor and supervise children in playground activities, ensuring that safety rules are being followed. Issue and oversee the use of equipment, games and materials. Act as advisor, coach and instructor of recreational games and other organized activities.
Maintain children's safety and well-being while at the Center and on field trips, during transit and at destination.
Pick up, store and serve lunches and beverages.
Clean up the lunchroom and store trash following meals or snacks.
Must be able to actively participate with children.
Maintain discipline and regulate rest periods as needed.
Assist in collecting money and recording receipts and in maintaining records.
General clean-up of the facility, including rest rooms.
