Summary: Interviews essentially start the moment you walk into the building, so make the best of a group interview and treat it the same as you would any other.
Showing up for an interview only to learn that it is a group interview is not usually how you want things to go. Not only do you have to deal with the intimidation of impressing the hiring managers, but now you have to do it in front of a group of people trying to do the same thing. The good news – a group interview and a traditional interview are pretty much the same thing.
Dress like you are serious about the job. For guys that means wear a suit and tie, but spruce it up with a colored tie. For women, you can wear a dress suit with a colored shirt under your jacket. Adding a pop of color makes you memorable in a good way.
Arriving early for a group interview is even more important, because it gives you the opportunity to meet the other members of the group and break the ice. Making small talk will help you feel better acquainted with them, so speaking in front of others won’t be as intimidating.
