About EEOC: EEOC, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission was created in the year 1964 for ending discrimination based on national original, sex, religion, color and race in employment. It was also created for promoting programs that encourage equal employment opportunities.

Since its inception, the agency has been responsible for receiving charges based on discrimination and investigating them. If the charges appear to be true the agency has to remedy them with conciliation. The agency may also bring suit in court if the conciliation isn’t secured.
