Coventry Health Care's beginnings can be tracked to the establishment of the Coventry Corporation in 1986. Coventry Health Care, Inc. went public in 1991 and has undergone impressive growth since then. Today, the company serves more than five million members across all 50 states. Coventry Health Care's seven core businesses are: Group Health Solutions, Retiree Solutions, Insurance for Individuals and Families, Medicare and Medicaid, Worker's Compensation, Behavioral Health, and Dental.
Coventry Group Health Solutions include fully-insured and self-funded insurance options that are provided to customers through health plans and insurance companies. Within this business, Coventry also supplies ASO coverage to domestic employers such as the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program.
Retiree Solutions serves the pre-65 age group and also provides a number of insurance choices for those who are 65 years and older.
Insurance for Individuals and Families are covered through CoventryOne, which serves individuals, families, students, new graduates, the self-employed or those without group coverage, and early retirees. More than 120,000 individual customers have chosen to be insured under CoventryOne.
Coventry Medicare services provide options for individuals who meet the Medicare requirements and also for employers in need of group retiree benefit choices. The company's Medicaid programs include managed care for conditions such as asthma, HIV, high blood pressure, immunizations, and more. The Medicaid programs work with Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, State Children's Health Insurance Program, Old Age Assistance, and other assistance programs.
Coventry Worker's Compensation services provide work with clients to create cost efficient medical care that caters to the specific needs of a given employer or organization.
The Behavioral Health Business provides a number of solutions, including behavioral health services and Employee Assistance Programs.
Coventry Dental Services provide insurance plans for groups of varying sizes, and is a full-service dental third-party administrator specializing in private label programs, and an array of products offered at reduced prices.
Employees of Coventry Health Care, Inc. receive training through a number of methods designed to meet the needs of the different learning styles. Computer-based training, classroom training, and coaching are just a few examples of the training methods employed. Coventry Health Care is also engaged in a partnership with the University of Phoenix, which enables employees to receive college credits for certain classes that can be completed while at work.
