What would have happened if you continued to play it despite your detest for it? Well, it's highly unlikely you would have played Carnegie Hall, but you could have entertained your family and friends with what you learned. So think about that. Because you quit you may have missed on opportunity to entertain those you care for.
What is the point of doing something you really don't enjoy after a while? Is it really worth the effort if you truly dislike it? If you don't learn how to play the piano it doesn't mean you will change the world for the greater good in the greater scope of things, but if you do learn how to play it could bring pleasure to your family and friends. Therefore, before you think about quitting something that is too difficult, try pushing yourself through and continuing because you will be happy when you see the results of your efforts.
When it comes to finding a job or excelling at your job, never give up. Why? If you give up then you will not be able to experience the rewards that come with reaching a goal you set for yourself. If you give up the search by not looking for a new career, then you will be miserable and hate your life even more. Nothing good will happen unless you make it happen with an extraordinary amount of effort on your part.
The job market for many job seekers is like a desert, a wasteland where no food and water exists. If you were really stuck in a place where you had little hope of being rescued, would you give up and let Mother Nature win or would you continue until the fight is completely drained from you? To be honest, the majority of the people in this position would probably give up because the prospect of being rescued is bleak. You would have to fight off the temptation to let nature win because that is the easy way out of your problem, death.
If you are out of work or currently employed but would like a change of scenery, then never give up, because something positive will happen eventually. Give yourself false hope if you must. Tell yourself every day ''I will find a new job today.'' Even if you don't really mean it, say the phrase out loud if you have to. In this world, we need to make things happen on our own with little or no help from others sometimes.
Unless you know people who are ''connected'' with employers then you will need to get the word out that you are looking for a job to friends and family. Perhaps they know of someone who can give your resume a look and determine whether or not you are qualified for a job.
The point of this article is that you should never give up no matter what. Search job board sites (or better yet right here on Hound) for your new career or even just a temporary job so you can start earning money again.
