Having a successful job interview is crucial for landing the job. It is just as important as writing a successful resume.

1. Over-Prepare

Think of all the possible questions that could be asked. Write them down. Then think of one or two possible responses to them. Make sure they're good. Then make sure you remember them. It's absolutely crucial that you prepare in this way. You do not want the interviewer to catch you in a tough spot. Besides, the interviewer's job is to help not to hurt you. In essence, it's absolutely crucial that you prepare and over-prepare or you might just end up short.

2. Understand Your Strengths and Weaknesses

Construe everything as your strength. Interviewers want to see your strengths. This is extremely important, so make sure you emphasize those.

However, they will also invariably delve into your weaknesses. It's inevitable. Therefore, it is important to construe those weaknesses as either insignificant trifles or benefits in themselves. For example, if you happen to be a little slow in your work, say that the slowness can be improved and that it allows you to be accurate in the work. Remember, be cunning and try to show that you have no weaknesses.

However, don't be fulsome here either. It's important not to give far-fetched answers here as well. Be careful when giving responses.

3. Be Confident

Interviewers have conducted hundreds of interviews. They will easily detect if you are confident or not.
Therefore, it is absolutely imperative to be confident and calm in your interviews. Practice by talking to a mirror or to a friend. Make sure you are smooth with your responses. It's absolutely critical to remember that interviews easily read people, so you better be confident in your interview. If you sound like you know what you are doing, then it becomes smooth sailing.

4. Be Realistic

Remember, it's important to be realistic in your interview. From the starting pay to the standards of work to overall performance of yourself, be realistic. Don't ask for a pay out of the ballpark. Don't set standards that you can't meet. If you are pragmatic, you will find that things will pan out smoothly.

  People Love Hound!

It made my job search manageable and quite organized as I was better able to search for jobs as per my location and experience, much better than anywhere else.

David  Westerberg., Salt Lake City,UT

Thanks for all of the career notices and motivational tools that were supplied by Hound. Your daily communications kept me focused and my job search on track.

Peggy  Gattis., Alabama,FL

I found Hound very easy to use and most importantly I found jobs that were not posted anywhere other than the employer's own website. This was true of the position I landed: Director, IT Security at HBO, less than six weeks after I first joined Hound. I will continue to recommended Hound to everyone I know who is looking for work. Thanks!

Joshua  K.

I was very pleased with the website. I found a great position within a short amount of time. I also want to comment on the customer service and technical support team. I needed some help with my searches, and the Hound staff was very helpful and easy to work with. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a better opportunity.
